The video above is of T2 driving with Mecanum wheels. The Mecanum wheels allow the robot to move forwards, backwards, side-to-side, and diagonal.
This a video of our functioning ballista shooting prototype for T2. It is powered by surgical tubing (elastic energy).
We have improved our catching mechanism so we are now capable of catching the ball. Before the arms wouldn't open easily, and when they did they didn't grip the ball very well. Also ,the ball didn't have support when we opened the arms and launched the ball. Due to this the ball didn't launch as far as it could, because we weren't hitting the "sweet spot" on the ball.
Now, the arms open easily and are wrapped with athletic tape to grip the ball. Additionally, there are two tusks to support the ball when the arms are opened and we are preparing to launch the ball.

We have improved our catch/pick-up mechanism, so we are now capable of picking up the ball. The arms now open freely, and with the addition of athletic tape, the arms can grip the ball.
